Features Deep links
QR codes that open inside the app, when people have it
A deep link opens a page inside an app instead of the browser. Point a dynamic code at your app's universal link and phones with the app open it there; everyone else gets the web page.
Uses your universal links
Apps on iPhone and Android register normal https links (universal links and app links). Paste one and phones with the app open it in the app.
Different links per phone
Send iPhone and Android users to different app links if your platforms differ.
Safe fallback
People without the app see the same page in the browser, not an error.
Change it later
Move the code to a new screen in the app when your campaign changes.
Questions
Can a QR code open an app directly?
Yes, through a universal link (iPhone) or app link (Android): an https link the app has claimed. Phones with the app open it there, others open the website.
Do custom app schemes like myapp:// work?
Phone cameras often refuse to open custom schemes from a code. Universal links are the reliable route.
Instagram, YouTube and Spotify links: will they open the app?
Yes. Their normal links are already universal links, so a plain code opens the app when it is installed.
Is this different from an app download link?
A download link sends people to the store; a deep link opens something inside the app. You can set both on one code.
