Features UTM builder

UTM builder, with the QR code

Tag a link so Google Analytics shows which poster, card or email brought each visitor, then download it as a QR code. Everything runs in your browser except drawing the code.

Tip: dynamic codes count scans on their own, and keep the printed code small however long the tagged link is.

Questions

What are UTM tags?
Labels added to the end of a link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) that Google Analytics and similar tools read, so you can see which poster, email or post brought each visitor.
Do I need UTM tags on a dynamic QR code?
Not for counting scans: dynamic codes count every scan themselves. Tags still help if you want the visits to show up by campaign inside Google Analytics.
Why does my code get denser with UTM tags?
Tags make the link longer, and a longer link needs more squares. A dynamic code keeps the printed code small however long the tagged link is.
What should I use for source and medium on print?
A common pattern is source = where it is (table-tent, yard-sign, flyer) and medium = qr. Keep the words lowercase and consistent so reports group them.
