Questions
What is the first digit of an ITF-14?
The packaging level (1 to 8), for example a case of 12 versus a case of 24 of the same product.
Why is there a box around the barcode?
Those bearer bars help scanners avoid reading only part of the code on rough cardboard.
Is ITF-14 used at checkout?
No. It is for cases in the supply chain; the products inside keep their UPC.
